Horses, it seems, are among the few animals on the planet that can bring out the best and the worst in the human animal.  If we judge them by our intelligence level we’re missing a bet.

They’re far below us in the reasoning process.  Below most of us, anyway.  I know a few two-leggers who sit a saddle that I’m sure are considered brain dead by the horse they're riding.

Before you slap the reins in frustration because your horse hasn’t read your rule book that day, take a minute and put yourself in his shoes, less the nails.

Follow along as this column discusses some possible reasons riders can’t get along with their mounts on some days but on others, they feel like they’re riding a super horse that can do no wrong.  Examine a few techniques that can help you and your horse be more consistent.
